(Hood) 11 : 59

And that was 'Aad who repudiated verses of their Lord and disobeyed His Messengers and followed the orders of every insolent dictator.

The believers who were with the Messenger were saved because they testified to Adhikr—the Mercy and Truth—while the disbelievers were destroyed due to their arrogance and rejection of Adhikr. Today, Adhikr, the Splendid Book in which no falsehood will enter before or after its codification, has been revealed. Those among the followers of Messenger Muhammad who hide this Book will face painful torment, as explained in verse 5:98.

Even though there was only one Messenger among the Aad people, the verse says “Aad disobeyed His Messengers” in the plural form rather than “Aad disobeyed His Messenger” in the singular form. This is because all 313 Messengers were sent by the Lord with the same Message—Adhikr—as explained in verses 2:136 and 285. Thus, disobeying any one of the Messengers is equivalent to disobeying all Messengers sent by the Lord.

Today, the Arabic Quran-reading Fujjar do not follow Adhikr and do not obey any Messenger. They serve Satan and follow his path, as explained in verse 11:5. Only disbelievers and wrongdoers reject the Lord’s verses, as mentioned in verses 29:47 and 49, respectively. Therefore, the true believer today should adopt the lifestyle described in verses 7:205-206 and 8:46. See explanation  2:258; 5:51; and 6:123.
